Pros:
I would like to thank my buddy Mike (Long time friend 28years) for making the long road trip with me. If it was not for him after the Elky was stolen way back when…it would be long gone making the beer cans we where drinking from all weekend.
Leo…for all the work you did to make this happen (note) for anyone that thinks it’s bad that he asked for a small donation I will tell you this-The tent was a god-sent with all the sun. There where 4-5 people that I know of that had the “Easy set up type tents” but with all the wind they could have blown down into someone’s car.
All my El Camino brothers voting on Saturday I’m so glad that you enjoyed all the work and effort I put into the “Black sheep of all gens”
Thanks so much.
Hanging out in the tent with all you guys was so much fun! Ken, Rich, (I’ll be knocking at your door someday buddy) Jim ,Leo, Steve (and his family Oh boy his oldest wants a Vett. Someday), and all the others so much fun.
Cons:
(Not the Elky guys voting but the gm national’s guy) I’ll be the first one to admit that after last year I was somewhat disappointed about the judging…not that I came in 2nd to Tommy’s sweet car (El Bandido) But was tied for 2nd with another Elky with a dented rear quarter!
This year our one and only Kenny Rodgers (Movie Star + Car) Gets squat! We all did the judging for our group of Elkys and somehow they missed the fact that his car/truck is one of the nicest around. This bummed me out. Ken drove all the way from Texas I’m so glad that he could spend time with us and his son wile out here.
In closing
Yes a show is not about getting an award It’s about having a good time with friends. I will say this I’ve been going to shows since 1999 with different cars and the El Camino guys are the best!
Tell next time….
