Hello all,

I just bought a 1979 El Camino from a funeral home that intended to clean it up and use it for a flower car, but I rescued it from a morbid life.

I intend to restore it over the next couple years(maybe frame-off) and turn it into a street cruiser. I am going to need a lot of advice/info in order to do this, and I would appreciate any help I can get from this community.

Thanks,
Derek

Welcome to ECC/NECOA Derek!

In the 80's, I used to see a shiny black El Camino used as a flower car by a local funeral home. I always hoped that I would see a for sale sign on it some day. What a great story to tell while showing it off at a car show.

Welcome to ECC / NECOA

Lots of places used the Elkys for the flower cars. It was a nice looking ride and was open in the back. Glad to see you found us.

Hello Derek. Do you mind if I make a suggestion? Your NJ location has you in Region 3 (DE, NJ, and PA). The Region 3 director for ECC / NECOA is Bryan Shook. He is a very in tune with our "hobby" and is always available to answer questions.
Why not shoot him off an email and let him know where your located and your email address? Also, keep your eye on the Regional Discussion Forums under the Forums section and there you will see "Region 3".
I've met a few of those members and they are all good people.

Best of luck
