Absolutely! This will be my 6th year!

But I'll be driving my SSR. My Elky's not weather tight and AC doesn't work (that simply makes a long trip unbearable). Rain is almost always a given and I cant afford any more holes in the floor just now.

The Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit - www.woodwarddreamcruise.com

Worlds largest car gathering. The past few years they estimate 40,000 cars and about 1 million spectators.

The cruise spans 16 miles of Michigan Rte 1 from Ferndale (at 9 Mile) to Pontiac. Here the pictures I took from previous years:

Nice shots! You even caught our Grand Sports group at last year's Dream Cruise! We had a great time - about 45 Grand Sport owners showed up from around the country. I think the picture is us setting up to cruise with all four lanes filled with those 'skunks'. If you see the Ohio plate 'PP LE PEU', you've seen me! :)

I'll be there for the first time as a participant..I'll have the most recognizable pimped out ride there because the 79 Elky I bought is gold over white over gold. It has a sun visor, mud flaps.headlight covers ,air dam ,fog lights and Pontiac Grand Prix wheels.
It was the sellers father's toy who died five years ago and had been in storage. He wouldn't sell it to a dealer for parts and just about gave the car to me. I don't have the heart to strip all the trinkets of the car without at least one years run on the cruise.

Those drivers had just u-turned and were heading back north. I saw them pull into a lot on the other side. The SSR group has had the bank lot there at Salem Rd for the past 5 years. We haven't had 45 SSRs show up yet (we're averaging in the 30's), but maybe I should try and talk everyone into crusing en-masse like that. We tried it once on Friday night years ago.... but never again! Holding that clutch crawling along at only 2 to 3 mph... not fun!

it would be cutting it close, but I may be able to make it. I'll be back from iraq early august, have to take 2 weeks of R&R that i'll use to fix up the interior/sound system. then hopefully after that I can get my buddy to paint it and have it ready to roll.

I'm originally from metro detroit. Always watched, never participated. If I can time everything right, you may see me and the 86 choo choo. Or I may have my wife drive while I sit in the bed with a keg and a lawnchair. we'll see.

We live a mile away from Woodward. They start unofficially cruising in May. By the time of the official cruise, we usually go out at about 7AM, and get home by noon.

Well, it rained most of the day. Led to a somewhat disappointing cruise turnout. I swear there were more SUVs, pickups, and minivans out there than cruisers.

Anyway, I still managed to take over 300 pictures between yesterday and today.

The kids and I were out in the Caballero from 8:30 to about 10:00 AM. I always love the mornings.

We went to a party a few blocks off of Woodward this evening, and walked up to the corner at about 8PM. Lots of cars, but a large percentage were newer mini-vans and pickup trucks. We did see two generations of the Bat Mobile though:bat_angel:

Yeah, I was disappointed with the appliance-mobiles on the road. It looked like rush hour around here, not a classic car cruise.

I missed the bat mobiles. :(

. We did see two generations of the Bat Mobile though:bat_angel:Looks like there were some really nice cars there! But what's truly weird...Chicago (Rosemont) just hosted Wizard World Comic Con 2010...Aug-19-22 and the REAL Batmobile with the Real Batman (Adam West) was there for the whole weekend...truly amazing that the Batmobile can be at two places at the same time...oooooooor is it? Of course the biggest new Superhero was also there Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich getting facetime...after all it is called Chicago's Wizard World Comic Con (as in Convict?)...it's still business as usual here in Illinois, the #1 state for corrupt politicians...next!
