: Should I pull the trigger AGAIN??
Once bitten 07-12-2010, 12:28 PM I don't know why but cars have their way of finding me, or others seem to push me in there direction! Anyways I have a chance at an 87 Elky Z15 SS w/ buckets etc... for $3K!!! I have 5 registered cars now, 2 being the 68 and 69 we drive to cruise nights and shows. YES I want the car and my mind is full of engine swaps, interior mods already... problem is ummm what will I do with it! Another 2yrs my youngest daughter will have licence and be able to drive one of the cars to show? Alternate which Elky I drive?:dontknow:
I rent a garage bay to someone at will, didnt want to commit to long term. So 2-3 months notice IF I get car?
C'mon guys talk me into it i'm easyyyy :driving::driving::feedback:

NYFinest , go to this site, type in what year El Camino you are looking for.
http://www2.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.cgi it will show you all of the El Camino's that are up for sale. Good luck and good hunting!
If I had the room and the money I would own a couple more El Camino's but my wife would KILL me!! I say buy it!!!
Once bitten 07-12-2010, 01:15 PM My wife loves El Camino's... hell we went on our Honeymoon in the 82 conquista! WANTING the car and having a place and the coin for it, but then what? I keep the Denali P/U for winter and dump runs, wife won't part with her Avalon and my DD is a BMW. we have the 68 Chevelle and 69 Elky we take to shows now. Does the deal justify the coin because of the "want"? Suppose I could DD it during the summer months... hmmm

novelle 07-12-2010, 02:31 PM It sounds like you have enough cars to drive a different one each day of the week. I say go for it and indulge your obsession. I'd do the same thing.:nanawrench:
steelybill 07-12-2010, 02:51 PM OK, you KNOW you want that Elco!!:smileyb:
Once bitten 07-12-2010, 03:06 PM Yes I KNOW I "want" it too! LMAO i've had 3 Gen. 5's already and the Gen'3... well I call the Chevelle and the Elky the "Ladies" but its more like the lady and the tramp! the Elky just spins and burns tires and sucks down gas like a 2 bit wh@re! Fun to drive but a handful at times.
Hence why I am debating a Gen. 5 for my heavy foot and save the 69 some heartache.

Tuggy24g 07-12-2010, 04:49 PM I would say get it if you have the space and money. You should garage keep or buy a car cover for it in the winter time. Maybe you can let your daughter drive it for her first car. Just really think it over before you jump on it right away. Also if it is in really good condition you might be able to sell it for more on ebay since some people like to buy cars as collectors.
melissadunagan 07-12-2010, 06:54 PM I say get it and put a LS3 engine in it or maybe that 300 HP V6 2010 Camaro engine. And sell the BMW. And this can be your DD.
DONE DEAL DONNY 07-12-2010, 07:03 PM Buy it and have you very own El Camino car show. Can't lose:nanawrench:
You only live once and you die a little bit everyday!!!
Go for it!!!

It must be nice to be rich and brag about it. I only have what I need.
Once bitten 07-13-2010, 02:12 PM It must be nice to be rich and brag about it. I only have what I need.
Who says i'm rich? I have worked since I was 15 yrs old and paid my dues to get where I am in life. I'm talking about spending $3,000 or less for the car. Sorry if saving money and enjoying life at 47 is a crime in your eyes. I was not bragging I was asking for serious opinions from folks whom might have been in similar situation in their life at some point. I gave full details to my situation and thoughts "I" had.
If you have what you need then great, then again maybe you have what you can afford? Don't cast stones upon unknown waters.
