I know most gearheads have lost track of their odds & ends during a project, and the other thread about losing parts verifies it.
Well, today I had some luck. How the hell do ya lose a fan shroud? Big item to lose. This evening I was looking in the over-head of my yard barn, which has misc airplane parts etc up there, and there it was!! my fan shroud!! Been looking for it since April, and was about to shop for a new one (they are not cheap either)
Since I knew about the parts up there ( I thought), didn't bother checking earlier, but this evening I was looking for junk to toss out, like an old parts etc.
Do we need to write everything down that we do each day and keep a journal? I would likely lose that too.......:poke::twisted:

Let the wife keep the list - problem solved. The only question is - Will it be worth it? :poke:

Well I would say keep a spot in the garage where all of your parts will be or in the barn. So then you know where to always look.

Steely, haven't lost a fan shroud yet; but my problem was trying to remember who borrowed what!
I now do a large post-it note on my garage wall... works!

Lost tools a few times when "friends" didn't return them.:neutral2:

Anyway, now I can check to see if the fan on the Caddy engine will fit in the shroud. It's a 7 blade X 18" diameter.
