I have an 80 Elky and need new doors and hood. I found an 82 that has ok doors and a great hood. I'm pretty sure they will fit, but the doors are of the electric window and lock type. My biggest question is, can I change the electric guts out for my old crank type? Next, is it possible to wire up the new doors in my car.

I would say you'd be able to take the guts out of your old doors and put them in the new ones. The only thing that show need modding would be the interior panels that cover the door.

Let us know how it turns out!
Take lots of pics so we can see and learn!

Cool! Thanx for the quick reply. I just had to post my question before I went and bought the parts. And yea you all would be into hearing my story. Took 2 years on the resto, then fire consumed the front end to the winshield. I have e few pics. It's an amazing evolution.

Well i haven't done this but have seen and heard of it happening. Soooo, I assume there was no major modding needed.

post a link to your gallery so i can see the process.

I don't mean to sound like an idiot, but exactly HOW do I create and post a gallery of my pics? I tried reading the rules or directions if you will, and got hung up somewhere. lol

click member cars > click 5th gen > go to the drop down menu "admin options" and click "new nested album" > Then "admin options" again > add photos.
I think that's it. Also in the forums are VERY detailed instructions; do a search

It's in your gallery and web site dude. We're all friends here. It's cool. That's quite the ride you got there, if you're running about 12 sec 1/4's. You should be proud of the job you've done in transforming your ride. How long did it take, and who all was involved? Inquiring minds want to know.

I just try to be as anonymous as i can be...i guess.

About the ride: My dad and I took about every weekend in a year and a half and are still working on minor things. The engine is from a 72 Camaro and I guess week had a little help with pulling the engine and when the tranny was redone. We (mainly my dad; hod rodder turned doctor) decided that the 402 was better than my idea a 472 SMALL block (That way i could say it was a 350 when on the street) Although mom didn't like that idea a whole lot.
N E other questions...I love to answer!
