Well I spent the weekend working on my 76. I've had it down and its basically been un-drivable since November when I broke the bell housing on the 350 THM. Man talk about some cool toys......

I used a friends shop all weekend long, regular Automotive shop :D man was it neat. We did it all with the Elky over a pit, "The Pit". Not one time did I have to lay on my back. I got the transmission out in about 30 minutes and it took about that long to get it back in. I tore apart the rear end also to install some Richmond gears and while I was doing, I installed the new MSD ignition for it. I had to just about completely rebuild the distributor but it was in desperate need of maintenance after 28 years of use.

It was nice, I took my time nothing was cramped or hard it was like automotive heaven. I got it all finished up Sunday evening by about 9 and went for a quick test drive. I couldn't go too far its inspection sticker expired while its been down. Runs great again and way, way better than it did.

Total cost for the shop and welding on the transmission casing $50.00! Not bad huh? :D I like it!

I wished there was some place that rented out work shop spaces for car nuts. Its just great having it all right there.
