I'll be there Thursday afternoon through Sunday. I have car coral space #CC2159. Look for a red Jaguar convertible..... and if you like it - buy it from me! :^) It's located next to the walk through gate on the front straight closest to turn four. If I'm not there, I'll be back soon. Help yourself to ice water in the cooler proped up on the wall. Cups will be in one of the chairs.

I'll be displaying Ol Paint with the PPGMA club Saturday somewhere up on the concourse, and I'll be roaming around the swap meet also.

I just got back at while ago. There where a lot of Elkys there. It is impossible to check out all the venders in one day. There are as many outside as inside the track. You just get tired of walking! I did get a chance to talk to Darrel(Orfunauto). Dude, that is one cool jag!

I must say, I did enjoy myself. Spent 99% of my time walking the vendor lots looking for gears, posi units, etc. I barely looked at the cars this time, although what time I did look at cars it was obvious there were a lot more Elky's this year. I talked to Darrel (orfunauto) for a while and I must agree Tommy, that is one cool LT1 Jag.

I always have a good time at the autofair!

Bought a few geegaws and swapped an early 12 bolt posi that wouldn't fit my 72 for one that would! The real cool thing is I never touched it, or even saw it in person till my pal brought it by the house tonight! And, the guy I got it from wasn't even at the Autofair! And yes, I owe my pal a beer or twelve!

Thanks for the comments on the Jag gentlemen. Although I didn't sell it there, I've got a couple of promising lookers. Hope to know something by the end of the week. I'm anxious to start on the 82 SS, but won't have the room until the Jag is gone..... LT1/4L60E, Lumina front end with custom grill, blank rear roll pan, custom tail lights in the corners, new paint, ect., ect., ect.... Can't wait!

Yep! That was Ol Paint!

I have some paint&body problems that need to be redone and the AC system is undergoing some upgrades so it's more of a work in progress again now and not really up to snuff as I want it to be! But you're right! It's a driver!!! Id drive that thing to hell and back!!!! With the 700R4 I'm getting extremely good gas milage and I wont hesitate to hop in it and take off anywhere!

Sorry I missed ya!

Out of curiosity, what kind of mileage are you getting? Also if you'll pardon my ignorance, is the 700R4 an overdrive transmission?

Yes, a 700R4 is an OD trans. The one I have is a Stage III Bowtie Overdrives unit built to handle the torque/HP of a big block.

I'm getting 20mpg on the highway! Maybe even a little better! I'm also running a 2.73 gear.

It still surprises me though, I have a pretty big cam(Lunati 280/288), in a 454 with 2.19/1.88 valves. I've spent a lot of time tuning the 750 Holley vac. secondary carb using an air/fuel ratio gage I installed and I also have a vacuum gage that I monitor while driving and make every attempt to keep the throttle where the vacuum is highest. If I start mashing on the pedal hard the vacuum goes down and so does the fuel gage.
