Anyone have some tips/tricks for getting rust sealed bolts off? I have a pair of stuck-on/seized bolts connecting the top control arms to the rear axle. HELP!!!

Soak them overnight with rust solution, then try again tomorrow. If you decide to use heat to loosen them up, be sure all the solution is off them.

I've had good luck with PB Blaster and Liquid Wrench. Soak the bolts/nuts overnight if necessary. Hit the bolt with a hammer to help jar it and hopefully get some of the solution to go down the threads. If still no luck, break out the torch and use some heat. If you don't have a torch, you can go to your favorite hardware store and pick up a small propane torch kit. You just need some heat, you don't need any metal cutting capability.

If your talking bout bolts that are screwed into threads heat them up with a torch and use a wax candle on them, The wax will melt around the threads and the bolt's will came out easy...
It work's great on manifold studs that are rusted in and won't come out ...

do you think soaking them in wd-40 overnight would work? i've hung on a 1-2ft. breaker bar with most of my weight and it wont budge.

The bolts going into the fenderwell should come out fairly easy. That bolt going though rubber gromet that attaches to the axel is bitch to get off. The metal sleave inside the gromet rusts to the bolt and your probabaly going to end up cutting that off or the upper control arm apart to get it out.

Make sure your turning the nut and not the bolt head. The bolt is probably rusted inside the bushing sleeve.

The wax trick works pretty well!! PB Blaster also is a good product and if nothing else Heat. Just make sure you clean off everything else with brake cleaner and let it dry first or (POOOOOF) FIRE!

I totally agree with the PB Blaster, I was new to it this year trying to get the bolts off both old bumpers that where rusted. rango Great stuff.

CAUTION!: you seem on the new side to cars, which is great! Just remember that all these methods work. Just don't forget about that gas tank and line over you head if you working on the rear end while using the torch. . . . Good luck, and this is normal stuff up here. 99% of northeast cars are like that lol

I've tried most of the things mentioned here and if they don't work flame is a last resort but if you do get a welding blanket and tie it up between you and the tank and fuel lines, use a propane torch with a map gas tank on it and try to concentrate the flame on the nut then first try to tighten the nut to break the rust loose it doesn't take much then try to take it off. Here is another option try a nut splitter that way all you have to replace is the bolt and nut and there will be no chance of an explosion!
