: Auto Renewal??
Elkyone 07-22-2010, 08:32 PM I just got dinged $20.00 from my paypal for a auto renewal for ECC when did they start that? I don't like auto renewals and I even emailed the address that was on the charge but I got it back as undeliverable.
I'm sure somehow I will get a refund but I think the choice should be up to you, maybe get an email saying your subscription is expiring or something? and they deducted this about a week ago and there isn't a site supporter on my id.
is this happening to everyone? I don't usually have money in paypal and jusdt transfer it when I'm looking for something.
Tuggy24g 07-23-2010, 12:11 AM Contact Don about this. Yes they started doing auto renewal
DONE DEAL DONNY 07-23-2010, 02:51 AM Yes you can stop the auto renewal now but you won't get refunded the money you just paid. I agree to just Email and let me know I need to pay. They got me too.:dontknow:
Donny
Tuggy24g 07-23-2010, 07:30 AM Now Brad, how would you know about this as you are not even a contributing site supporter. Did "they" contact you so you have first hand knowledge about automatic subscription billing?

First off 87elcamino Tripple D made a whole thread about the same issue. He canceled the whole auto renewal, but still had to pay like he already said above. So that is why I said to contact Don to get the problem straight.
mgs72elky 07-23-2010, 10:56 AM OMG. Can't see through the tears...... Sorry
Marv D 07-23-2010, 11:25 AM Just a BTW,, go to your paypal account and cancel the auto-renewal.
DOH,, 87ElCamino already explained it all, sorry. I missed the text after the second quote.
But as said, easy enough to cancel the auto renew
Elkyone 07-23-2010, 12:01 PM I did cancel it thru paypal before i posted and emailed the contact that the payment went to but it came back as undeliverable... and Don who? I answer said don roy ? but also said he doesn't have anything to do with it.. I guess i should look up site admins and email one of them
Thanks
Dave
marshall.pixley 07-23-2010, 12:45 PM So, you have no personal first hand experience with the subscription renewal problem, and Don Roy has nothing to do with resolving it.
For your own good, you need to keep your fingers off the keyboard when you don't know what you're talking about, and abstain from giving people misinformation. It does not contribute to your credibility.

he was just trying to help man, i know he was wrong but you didnt need to snap at him and rip his head off over it. just sayin, a little bit cruel on your part. :dontknow:
kenrogers1 07-23-2010, 12:45 PM I would rate this thread as a solid gold "10" but the ratings only go as high as 5...................Ken
Elkyone 07-23-2010, 01:04 PM wow nice I never been involved in a solid gold 10 thread sweet !!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! WOW! That's definitely getting saved
87ElCamino 07-23-2010, 01:55 PM ... i know he was wrong but you didnt need to snap at him and rip his head off
I didn't rip his head off. It's still there. You just can't see it because it's up his.....oh never mind.
just plain john 07-23-2010, 02:54 PM OK, this thread has shamed me. I've been posting for a bit here, as well as learning a thing or two, so I guess it's time to contribute to the sight. Where do I start?

i know what you mean, you just seemed to have said somethings that might have started a bit of a :flamewar: cause people are ok with being told they are wrong if it is done so in a kind way, people are not ok with being told they are wrong in a way such as you did, not trying to start something, not trying to be offensive, just pointing out what it looked like from a 3rd party stance.
just plain john 07-23-2010, 03:28 PM Agreed, as a neutral observer.
1983SS454 07-23-2010, 04:57 PM As a person of authority at the company I work for, I have many people in their late teens and early 20's that I deal with. So I can understand where your coming from Ernie. Having to repeat something over and over to someone will grow your patience thin. It gets to the point of what can I do to get my point across to this person and have them listen.
Elkyone 07-24-2010, 04:14 PM ok this may be a dumb question but I'm having no luck contacting an admin to get a refund so is there a list that has the admins easy to find? I wouldn't think it would be this hard
Elkyone 07-24-2010, 06:07 PM I tried that and they said basically I need to cancel the auto renewal so as far as they are concerned the charge is good and I need to get a refund from the site
87ElCamino 07-24-2010, 06:40 PM PM sent.
kenrogers1 07-24-2010, 06:48 PM It seems that the Tuggester has also been taken to task by the Director of Region 1 - maybe he can take these as learning experiences, and use the pointed shortcomings to make positive remedial changes to his activities. He certainly has been motivated to help, but maybe should channel that energy into areas where he has life experiences to back up his postings. Just some thoughts.................Ken

I would do it if they allowed me to. I mean I am the most active region 3 member and got the whole Carlisle ecc meet public and promote it to hell!]
OK Tuggy enough about your Carlisle "promotion!" I've kept quiet until now but enough is enough. Several of the people who helped are not all too happy with this self aggrandizing attitude of yours. While we appreciate the help in members such as yourself bringing up Carlisle registrations you by no means ran anything. Please don't take credit for the work others did. Many many times people asked questions about the event and your response was totally incorrect and I had to step in and set it right. You didn't even show up at Carlisle and to be perfectly honest, I don't think you broke down at all, you were very quiet on the board for many days before the event and after. You said you made it to your hotel, so why didn't you just call one of us to pick you up or take a cab?
What's involved in putting this together? Money which we only get from donations since NECOA charges no dues, constant contact with the Carlisle Events people to be sure we have good placement and the tent is properly situated so we still have it on Sunday, arranging for the Fri. dinner and the Sat. banquet, distributing and tabulating the member votes (thanks Jim for helping) arranging for the tent, tables, chairs, making up the awards, and so many more little things you can never imagine.
Who are the real people who should be getting the credit?
The members who donated funds so we could pay for the things we needed for the show. (I won't mention the names here but you all know who you are). Guys such as Jim Faucett, Ken Rogers, Garry Lutsky and others who were an enormous help in keeping things running smoothly. And last but not least Brian Shook who IS the Region 3 director who personally donated cases of water to the NECOA tent. Just because there isn't any activity in your region is no reason to blame him. I'm the Region 1 director and there isn't much activity here either, perhaps you'd like to take this one over?

rangomr 07-24-2010, 08:33 PM I just read all the post and I'm very glad I did or I would not have known at all what everyone was talking about. Job well done Leo and I'm just looking forward to going to Carlisle for the first time in 2011 and God Will I will help out anyway I can. I started supporting this site shortly after I found it because I knew it was for a GOOD CAUSE. I've learned a great deal just sitting here in the comfort of my own home and have meet some very knowledgeable people plus have met some people I just don't understand but it's still worth what ever I can donate to help keep this site up and running. Michael (Rango)
Marv D 07-25-2010, 08:00 AM THANK YOU Rango!!! I mean good lord!!!!, what are we talking about here,, a pizza and beer?, a couple of packs or cigarettes, or a few lap dances down at your favorite shelter for wayward girls????? COME ON!!!! What you donated is small potatoes even in this troubled economy. What you are a part of here you can't buy! Call the donation a lesson learned. Turn off the auto-renew and move on.
And you all loosing patients,, remember you were young, stupid and arrogant once yourself. So you've given him his Internet http://small-block-chevy.com/images/smiles/nutkick.gif,, let's move on.
FIRST ELKY 4 ME 07-25-2010, 09:00 AM I'm just glad the subscription amount is fixed and not based on the amount of help and good advice I've received since I joined. Otherwise I would be broke.
