Hey Region 6 what up? Checked out Turkey rod run today. Pretty cool show. Would have been nice to see a few more El Caminos out there.

I recently relocated out here from Cali. I have an 82 El Camino that I converted to an 87 by replacing the dash, doors, and bumpers. Had the Elco painted, rechromed, and system installed before I came out.

Was wondering who and how many Elcos are in region 6? Who is the region 6 leader of the pack?

Any shows or meeting coming up? Thanks will keep in touch.

Where exactly in Fl r u located? im in clemront, just west of orlando. As far as meets n such we talked about the spring show over at daytone where the rod run is, but details are still sketchy. once again, welcome!

for punkrican

it's not that i don't want to drive to the shows & events,it's just that it's kinda hard to cruise without a front clip or driveshaft on your Elky.for some reason FHP wants you to have a few certain parts installed.although, it does show off the small block. 8-) i don't post that much because i really don't have much to say.i'm working on my crusty jewel now.hopefully we'll meet each other this summer.you can't miss me.i'll be the big & ugly guy drivin' the koolest El Camino on the grounds. 8-)

oh yeah...welcomes to 84chocho2004.i live in panama city.great site.enjoy! 8-)

I'm in Largo (Clearwater - St. Petersburg area). I have a blue 66 (sorry, no pictures just yet). There are several local shows (one almost every night of the week) and there are three El Camino's that show up to at least one of them every week - my 66, Conrad's 67 and Jay's 69. We need a 68 to make the set complete. Any takers? I plan on being at the first Super Chevy Show of 2005 at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton the last weekend in February (I got the runner-up honors and Jay won the class at last year at the Bradenton show). I will also be at the 2005 Gatornationals in Gainesville in March. Hope to see some of you there. Let me know when the next show at Old Town is scheduled. I try and make it to Old Town about every six weeks or so.

I'm in Clearwater, but the car's sadly falling into poor shape and is no longer mobile. I'm in search of a mechanic that has a true love of old El Caminos and that I can afford.

I hate to turn my baby over to anyone, so it's dying in the yard since I don't know anyone I can turst. Just saw my first rust hole and panic has set in. I am tired of guys driving by asking to buy it.....I have no intention of selling it. Unfortunately, it became too unreliable to be my daily driver and was taken off the road for a few years and has been neglected.

Since mine's a 70, I could still help you fill out the 3rd generation when I can get it running and legal again. Where/what nights are some of the local shows you mention...that's probably the only place I can try to get some advice:-P

I have a new starter sitting here, hoping that will bring it to life again since it wouldn't start as of a couple of months ago, but I am no mechanic. A friend said it was "Just a few bolts". Ha, that is BS, I read the directions and it's alot more than a few bolts. Girls in my family weren't taught auto mechanics further than oil and tire changes.

What size hitch are you looking for? Light, medium, or heavy duty?

There are many local shows in the Clearwater - St. Petersburg area. Tuesday - Jan's Truck and Car show at Clink Street (NW corner of 66 St and Brian Dairy Rd). Thursday - MaMa G's Ristorante (3665 East Bay Dr). Friday - Biff Burger (49 St and 38 Ave). Saturday - Burger King (110 Ave and US 19N). Also there are some big swap meets coming up in the near future - Super Chevy Show at Bradenton Motorsports Park the last weekend in February. If you can find a copy of Mike Kelly's Cruise News or Cruisin' Style magazine, you can find a lot more information about the local and statewide shows.

Thanks for the info. I'll be looking for the cruise news while I'm in search of the January Hemmings issue with a special 70-72 section, mentioned in another forum. I get way too busy this time of year since I'm webMistress/internet business operator, but I need to get out there and find a mechanic. I hate Christmas season (followed by hating Valentines season) since I have so little time. I originally planned on using the EC in local parades when we had local stores and it's actually still in the business name (thinking the restorations would be a business expense, no?) Unfortunately, it became too unreliable as a daily driver (no a/c, no turn signal, no blower) . I also didn't want to risk it getting wrecked in the local traffic :o) which I'm sure you can understand.
