I just picked up a 1974 GMC Sprint w/ 350 4bbl (VIN: 5D80L4Z500496). The body needs a lot of work (a few rust holes and a nice fat dent in the passenger side of the bed), as does the interior, but my god, this thing runs. I took it to my mechanic to replace the lower radiator hose, p/s belt, and fan clutch (under $200 total!). Best part: it was free!
So, just a couple of questions: Where can I get a grille (I can't stand ebay, but I'll go that route if I have to)? What's the best method for repairing rust holes other than replacing body panels? There was another question, but it eludes me at the moment.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself, and I think this board is great. I poked around a bit and you all seem like a great bunch of guys (and girls, of course)!!!

You're going to find that 4th gen parts are some of the more difficult to locate..I'd start off by searching your local salvage yards. Also, post a WTB note in the Garage Sale forum.

Thanks for the welcome, and you're not kidding, I find everything for every year EXCEPT 73-77, but I'll take your advice and post a WTB.

Welcome to ECC/NECOA Dave!
As it's already been said, you are going to have to look around at a lot of junkyards before you find many 4th gen parts in good shape. I guess the swap meets are another alternative too. I've looked at all of the Elky parts suppliers in the ECC links and nobody seems to carry a 4th gen grill.
I know you said you don't like ebay, but looky whats for sale on ebay. :P
