Has anyone but me had problems getting door window to seal on the weatherstripping? I have adjusted the "Toe-In" inside the door, but when I roll up the window with the door shut, it will leave a gap, most of the time. Sometimes it goes o.k. The only way it seals is to roll up window with the door open. If I adjust it back out just a little, there is too much gap anytime. Even tried pushing the rubber out with extra spacing material.

Wind noise is pretty loud when I am cruising at 70 mph(yea, I know, cruise at 40...).

I have the same problem. If my research is right, there is an adjustment inside the door. You have to take the door panel off to get to it. It brings the top of the window closer to the car, so it decreases the gap. I will be doing this within the next couple of months, so I will find out soon.

My hinges has no play in it. My weatherstriping is in bad shape, so replacing it will help some.

Hinges on mine are good. Replaced weatherstripping. There is an adjustment inside the door. I have mine run forward as far as possible. Anything less leaves a gap all the time. Sometimes it goes up, sometimes it does not. I think the pressure override is cutting it out after the window rubs too much, but if it is not rubbing, it is leaking.

Just went thru this with my pass. window. When I would wash the truck and let it dry the window would stick and not roll down , or go down very slowly and sometimes not go back up unless I opened the door and helped it. I put in a new motor but that did not fix it , it may have helped a little, so next I greased everything that moved I.E. tracks rollers sector etc. and it got a little better. but not great. the I adjusted the 2 stops that push the window out at the door frame and iit got a lot better Now after greasing, tweaking and cussuin it now rolls up and down very nicely woohoo. Ernie got it right on the door hinges to they make a lot of diff. on the adjustments to the window mechanism I also put new hinges and bushings in the doors ,It is fighting a loseing battle trying to adjust and compensate for worn parts Jim:texas:

as a ps to my post since I am now to dumb to edit a post if you put a dollar bill in between your door glass and weatherstrippin and adjust it so you have a slight drag when you pull it out with the door cledd it will have enough tension to seal very well. try it at different spots around the window. I can spray my windows with a pretty strong spray from a hose and not leak to the inside Jim:texas:

If you used Soffseal weatherstrips you might not get them to seal right at all , I tried using them about 5yrs ago and tried 2 different sets and spent about 3 hrs adjusting door glass every way possible and I was lucky enough to do some internet searches and find both GM Oem weatherstrips and problem was solved.By the way I sent a couple of emails and a phone call to Soffseal asking if there was a know fix for this and never got any response.

I got my seals from OPG and the box said soft seal on it I guess I got lucky and got a set that fit pretty well. I have had them on for about 2 years now and they are holding up very well Jim :texas:

The only problem I have is that the passenger side will catch outside the guide rolling up at highway speeds and just a little water drips inside the glass during washing. Thanks guys and I am going to research that adjustment thing and try to tweek it when I finally get off of my lazy A** to pull the panels and install the new felts I bought months ago.

So Sam, did you ever get a resolution on this? What, if anything, would you do differently? It's in my near future and I'd like to get your take on it.

Yeah, I saw that one. I was just wondering how it went for Sam as we are doing pretty much the same build.

I am adjusting the window rollers now, and may have to replace a couple of the rollers on mine. I did insert some extra rubber trim behind the window rubber to push it out a little. It helped, a little. I am using the Soft seal replacement rubber. May have to try to find GM Parts if theadjustments do not help.

I have the same problem with my windows, I think it is the aftermarket window seal. After I adjusted the window I noticed the glass going under the seal at the upper rear, so I went back and adjusted the glass out, but then it leaves a gap at the front top. So finally I got some vasaline and I rubbed it on the rear part of the seal, and tweaked the adjustments and finally got it to work better. Also on the top part of the seal the glass just barely touches it. It works better now, but I'm not happy with it. I worked on it last night for several hours. This is a fifth generation.

I believe the biggest problem is the material used in the new seals! Since the stuff they use to make them from (factory type) made the EPA's hit list the stuff they have to use now isharder to get formed and takes longer for the glass to seat into!

So is this a Soft Seal problem, or do other brands have the same issues? Who has used a product other than Soft Seal?
