I have been working on changing out my old holley 650 CFM with the new 750 cfm Speed Demon carburator on my 69 elky 350. I have completed the job and found the carburator works really well with great throttle responce. I have a few lessons learned during this conversion I would like to share with anyone that is considering a swap like mine. First off it's really good to verify that your manifold, cam and transmission settup is compatable with the carburator. I did the research in advance and found my existing settup was good for the unit I selected. I found out later that couldn't use any parts off the Holley for connecting the Speed Demon like the fuel inlet assembly, filter, kickdown cable bracket and even the air filter which was a new K&N assembly I just bought for $80. So now, after paying $400 for the carburator I had to buy the Barry Grant fuel inlet assembly for $60 which was really hard to get sealed at installation and I still have a problem with interference with the heater hose connection to the manifold to work out. Also I had to buy a Rush Airfilter assembly for $90 as the only one that will fit and clear the linkage to the choke butterfly on the new carburator. Also I had to buy a new fuel filter and mount it remotely in line to the pump. So all I can say is it would have been really nice to have had that information BEFORE I purchased the carburator. NOW YOU DO! Hope this helps someone. Don't take this as whinning, as I do know that the cost of conversion can sometimes be expensive and after all this hassel and $$$ I really like the carb.

It's not often that something is as simple as it first seems.

I have to say i just got my car fired off again for the first time in about 4 years, with a 1000 cfm race demon on a 427, full race motor. I had run Holleys for years, and they worked. That was about all I can say for them after running it with a Demon. The throttle response was so clean and crisp, I can't believe it. I did have to buy their specific fuel inlet line and modify it to work with a my pressure regulator, but that was simply a matter of getting the right fittings.
