I just got an edlebrock performer intake manifold with the permastar coating. And the 4 middle bolts are leaking oil. I put sealer on them and torked them to specs. But still leak. Any tips or sugjestions?

I am sure you did but just for grins did you torque them in the proper sequence?
Just a thought.

mk1264.

I've been thinking about buying one of the permastar coated manifolds but haven't actually seen one (except for pics) yet.
How does the coating look? Does it look more like real chrome or more like the ceramic coated headers? Whats your opinion? Thanks!

Yea it looks chrome. Real shinny finish but wont oxidize or turn blue or sand cleans real easy. Oh i did it all by the instructions torquing them down all in sequence. I am trying pulling all the bolts one at a time and putting on sealer and letting them sit for a bit and cure then sticking them back in. hope that works.

On a SBC all of the intake manifold bolts except for the four corner bolts end up in the oil mist of the center valley. Use a good non hardening sealer (I use Aviation Form-A-Gasket) on the bolt threads, this will do the trick.

I used copper rtv on mine. Works good.
