In light of a recent post request for an overall length (I'm going to send it to him tonight) I was thinking maybe we need to set up a Specifications Page. With the spectacular amount of knowledge accumulated here we could put a lot of great info together in one place that could simplify many things for newbies. Someone from the site would have to set it up and then we could forward the information that we each have from our various sources. Might take a little time, but seems like it could be very helpful for some people. Might even bring in some new members who might find it from search engines.
Just a thought.

That is an excellent suggestion. I bought my Caballero the end of June, joined this site shortly thereafter as my wife joined that day. I have asked very litte but have gotten a wealth of information just from searching the site. My name may not be familiar to many but your's are all familiar to me.

Maybe something like a copy of the specs page of a service manual for the various models would work. (?)

Feel free to put it together and PM it to me. I don't have the time right now to dedicate to creating it.
Ernie,
I have a copy of the 1987 Chevrolet/GMC Factory data book from my years as a GMC Sales Manager. In addition to all the specs and options, there are sections on brakes, suspension, engine etc. It will take a bit of time to separate the relevant data since it covers all light-duty trucks, but I'll scan and send it to you as soon as I can.

I can see that it would be a big job alright. And some of it could come under "too much information". And where would the line be drawn for how much info to put up here, (?) etc. My idea of a specs page for each model could get out of hand too I suppose.....
Buying a used service manual from Ebay etc , is still the best way for folks working on their own cars, IMO. And they are sometimes quite cheap. My '77 Fisher body manual was $9.95 plus shipping. The service manual was just over 20 bucks.
