There was no "Royal Knight in 78. The Z16 option was called "Black Knight" in 78.

On 5th Gens I don't get very excited about Royal Knights, Black Knights, Red Knights on any kind of knights for that matter. Other than a few decals (which I don't particularly like the look of) there wasn't much to distinguish them from other El Camino's. The days when SS really meant that you had a performance package was all over by the 70's. I could be wrong but I think when the 5th Gens really become a collectors car whether or not that car is a SS or not, a Blaclk Knight or not is not going to mean too much (an exception would be the Choo Choo El Caminos.
