I'm going to have too have some subs in my 78 El Camino. I don't mind having a custom box made for it. Just wondering what everybody is running.

I was running and will be running again (2) 12" Rockford Fosgates, using the smugglers compartment as the enclouser. Worked awesome! 8)

I have 2 10's in truck boxes behind the curtain. dont have them hooked up yet, I dont know if i should drill into the back panel or not.(dont want to drill through to the bed). I saw a pretty cool setup in tech & tricks forum.Has anyone mounted their amp on the back wall, please let me know how it worked out.

It really depends on the type of sub you put in as to if it will fit 2 - 15"s. You may need more airspace than can be achieved. One way around this is to make a custom enclosure to house each sub (could look as one unit) and port them. If you're plannig to use the Solobaric L7s, you may need more space to get the best sound quality.

I plan on using two 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1D. I've done a lot of research on subs and these have some of the best ratings for sound quality and SPL...good price too. At first, I was going to go all out and spend a lot of $ to make an SPL monster, but I think I'll go more mild and get better SQ.

As far as placement, the smuggler's box is by far the best place to put subs, and, if built right, your amp(s) and 6x9s. That's what I plan on doing.

For subs, I plan on a pair of Treo Engineering SS (12") http://www.treoonline.com/ss.html I'll get the 12.22's.

I have a single 10" bazooka tube in my smuggler's compartment with a 250 watt amp. I have tried different combos of systems and this is by far my personal favorite just because nothing else made as DEEP a hit.

Hmmmm....and that'd be a LOT easier to mount that building a box....http://www.discodelic.netfirms.com/confused-thinking.gif

One Weber bass guitar speaker with a 450 watt amp and Pioneer head. Haven't finished the box yet, but I hooked up the speaker without the amp and it worked really well. Gonna make a box that goes behind the driver, so I still have some room behind the passenger.
