Howdy folks,
New member who just bought me an 84 El camno, i am here to learn as about this car or truck to get ti fixed up,,
so any member from chicago?

here is a pic of my car that i bought, as u see needs little paint job:

My mods are:
350 4 bolt main for a v6
grand nationl trans 200r, dont know how to hook up the over drive :(
bought me a brand new seat from gm cost me a lot but she look goods :)
edl brock 600cfm,

My future mods are:
POSI rear end from a monte carlo ss or a grand national
a nice silver paint job or maby red, have to look for a nice body shop ,
So any good memeber from chicago land area :) :poke:

bought it from a guy in Carol stream, nice truck but needs lots of damn work,
do u any body guy to paint this truck?

The overdrive is built in, I'm not sure what you mean by 'hook up'. There's a cable, sometimes called the kickdown, sometimes the tv cable, that attatches to the throttle linkage. It has a very specific method for adjustment but I don't know what it is. Try this: http://www.tciauto.com/Products/Instructions/instructions/gm_tv_cable_adjust.htm

This car had v6, the owner put a brand new v8 , so i think he used the same cable wires

I lived in Warrenville/Naperville for 11 yrs, was also Legislative Director for DuKane ABATE 91-95. I still know lots of places there.
