Hello everyone I gots a problem and I need advice from the Pros!! Ok so I got an 81 El Camino thats missing the pass side outside dr handle( i just got it off a friend like that). I went to junk yard and found a gm door handle and got the linkage also but when I went to install it I found out its the wrong linkage. So my question is what other car can i get the linkage out of thats a direct replacement cause the chances of me finding a El Camino at the local junk yards is slim and none. So I'm open to any thoughts and or ideas. Thanks

What car did you get the handle and linkage from?

I pulled it out of a 80 something buick regal. The handle fits fine I'm just surprised the linkage didn't.

Just asking, not being smart. Look's like any monte calro or buick regal 2 door handle off a 81 thru 88 would work witht he rods from it to. If you can find a malibu 2 door, 78 thru last year they made them, they should have the same rods to. You might want to pull door panel off driver side door on your el camino and see how the rods hook up to it , just to see why these other rods are different. Hope this helps. Larry:poke:
