I couldn't find the answer in search?
Tonight when I get home I won't have a lot of time to search and trace wires so I need someones help.
I need to know what color and where to look for the wire that feeds my oil pressure gauge in my 1980 with a 350? On my 68 it's a line not wire. So on my 80 is it the same or is it a wire?
It does have a gauge and not a light.
Any help would be great!!!!
Thanks
Donny

Most likely a dark blue wire
sending unit should be back by the distributor, a little bit closer to the driver side.
Will look like a can with a wire coming from it.

I seen that. Wires look like there hooked up but I'll have to check closer. Gauge is pegged, (no movement?):dontknow:

unplug the sender pigtail and see if the gauge drops back to 0

The higher the oil pressure----the less resistance to ground
Oil pressure not reading-----no ground---or no power
oil pressure pegged----short to ground in the blue wire. (or a bad sending unit)
All the sending unit does, is vary the resistance to ground. The unit is essentially the groound path for the gage

On mine, the Oil Guage sender is just above the oil filter. The "oil pressure switch" beside the distributor is for the Choke and Choke light.

In the schematics it shows the wire to the oil pressure switch to be TAN ,you probably need a new oil pressure switch so unplug the wire and see if it goes to zero.
