I talked to someone who has had stuff chromed before, and he said that the expensive part about chroming is the stripping and polishing of the metal. If you do that yourself, than it should be cheaper.

I found these guys on Ebay: Tamraz's Parts Discount Warehouse,
Toll 1-800-442-4601 (US) 1-630-904-4500 (Outside of US) Mon-Fri 8-5,Sat 9-2 CST.

They have what appears to be nice repo bumpers for a decent price. I contacted a few of their customers and they liked the product, packaging, and shipping.

I am going to order a front and rear for my 3rd gen. Should be running around 160 each plus shipping. I can't rechrome mine for that. Not sure if they have them for your gen, but might be worth a call.

Just my 2 cents ...

I had my bumpers re-chromed by Tri-City Plating (http://www.tricityplating.com/). It was $250 for each bumper, and $50 each for the front bumper guards. More expensive than a reproduction, but you get a show quality finish with a lifetime warranty. They will also repair bumpers for no extra charge. My rear bumper was smashed up pretty good when I took it in, and now it looks better than new.
