My best friend and I went to a car show today and took best early truck of show first time out and it's not even finished.

Here is a picture of an El Camino from Louisville that came in for the show I think the guy was named Ray Jones. A real nice guy and a nice Elky to boot. Check out the hood hinges from a Park Ave. he used to flip the Cowl Hood forward. Nice ride!

Here's a few pic's. Jim

Nice rig.

I just had added some insulation under my hood to cut down on the noise, it was loud before. I can't imagine driving a really long distance without it, it makes so much difference. I like that hood and what he has done but for me it would be too much noise.

Congrats on the show. 8)

Pete, I was thinking of adding the insulation back to the hood. Does it really make a big difference?

I would think dynomatting the firewall would help out more the insulation under my hood.

If you see the Treadplate under the hood of the Studebaker that covers the rear of the dash, we put dynamat on it and it lowered the noise level about 50%, big difference.

I plan on using it in the Elky when I put the interior in and also paint the inside with Dupont spray bedliner coating. I already have a gallon and what the heck it couldn't hurt. jim

The El Camino is MetalMagget's (http://elcaminocentral.com/modules/gallery/album167) I don't know if he's posted here but that's a link to the gallery that he just created on site.
