Hello everyone! Been lusting after a 3rd or 4th gen Elky for a long time. Finally bought a rough as a cob 76 Classic. I'm 54 years old and grew up loving these things as a lad.
I have a bunch of other projects too and my wife thinks I'm totally nuts by now.
If I spent as much time working on this stuff as I did looking for it I'd be just about done! Anyway, looking forward to picking the brains of the forum gurus and scoping out lots of parts and pics.
Hope there's a lot of el camino nuts local.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I would appreciate ANY recommendations as to sites for locating parts and how-to's. I've figured out in the last few hours that finding parts for this rascal is gonna be a bear!

I'm a happy 4th gen owner too! Mine's a 1975 Classic. I'm taking the aluminum and some of the stainless trim moldings off the bed of mine, the "Classics" have one, two, three, four different bits of shiny stuff on the bed, too much for me, PM me if you need any bits.

Welcome! Ah, to be 54 again. I also have a '76 El Camino, and "rough as a cob" would be putting it nicely. Misery LOVES company. However, the people here are great, and the pictures of finished projects are pure inspiration. For parts, make some swap meets and seek out the people wearing El Camino T shirts. Good Luck! :nanawrench: :texas:
