Just checked out your pictures...Wow, What a fun project!

Is it originally a Texas car, cause I don't see much rust...except the pass. rear qtr. Can't tell from the pic, how bad is it really? Body looks straight and it looks like you're only missing the driver side chrome...Man, what a great place to start.

Please take lot's of pix and share....

Skull;

Looked at your new pictures....Your "storage compartment" is called a "smugglers box"..pretty self-explainatory. How short is bed piece? I'm no first gen expert, but I'm guessing that you're missing the cover for the smuggler's box?

The Bed Pan stop's at the "Smugler's Box"...then they put a piece of Diamond Plate over that with 3 hinge's on it. Is there supposed to be a trap door there??? "SKULL"

I don't believe they were original hinged, but bolted or screwed down.

Buy Hey, It's a great storage area or even relocate the battery there for better weight distribution. Really cleans up the engine compartment.
