Does anyone use their El Camino to haul a lawn tractor. If so, what size? How do you load and unload? Will the tailgate handle the weight of loading?

Thanks.

I haul my lawn tractor between the house and my shop in the back of an Elky. I use a pair of 1x8 planks to load and unload. Never had an issue with the tailgate.

What size is your tractor? Is it 38 inch cut, 42 inch cut etc?

Thanks

My tractor won't fit in the back of my Elky because it's got a 42 inch mower deck. The distance between the wheel wells is only 45 inches so as long as your mower deck isn't wider than that it'll fit. Take a good look at the tailgate cables before you put a lot of weight on the tailgate. They tend to rust out in the center at the bend.

Hmmm, you would ask me that! It's in the garage at home so I can't look at the moment, but if I remember correctly it's a 38...just barely fits widthwise.

I carry on 42 in cut mower in mine from time to time. I lift up the deck & put it in at a angle. Never had a problem & it works for me.
