there is a 72 monte sittin at a little quick lube place that has caught my eye and continues to do so every time i drive by it, and one of the mechanics just came by for some parts, so i asked him about it. it is his brothers and he has been looking to sell it for quite some time. he says he couldnt be asking more than 1500 for it, and im quite interested in it. got a freshly re-built 350 in it w/ new aluminum heads :( in it. THM 350. AC actually works!!! but man this thing is ugly!! there is no evidence of the original color. mostly spots of primer and several different colors here and there. but man i like it!! but if i was to buy it i would most likely have to sell my 82... :( just thought id share, im excited!!

If it has a quality rebuilt engine with good aluminum heads the engine alone could be worth $1500.00.

Get rid of an Elky to get an ugly Monte!! no way at least for me...

I don't think I would even consider selling a 1982 Elky to get such a vehicle. Old Monte Carlos are interesting, but the El Camino will be a better investment and is more useful.
