I would like to know of any internet or magazine references that I could use to find colours and their codings just so I can get better ideas for a paint job for my camino.

This site has color chips back to the 30's...the chips are not the greatest but you get an idea plus all the codes.

I would recommend the book "Catalog of Chevelle, Malibu & El Camino ID Numbers 1964-87.
Besides having a wealth of info, it has a complete section on year by year colors along with fabrics for the interior and vinyl tops. The colors look pretty accurate to and have the actual GM numbers to go with the color.

The ISBN number for the book is 1- 880524 -06-6. It is by "Cars & Parts Magazine". I'm sure any Barnes and Noble can get it for you.
