: Whats up with my cruise control?

Got the Elky out on a little road trip today and had the cruise set. First time I had to slow down, I pressed the brake, the cruise disengaged properly, and as soon as I took my foot off the brake, it engaged and resumed speed again by itself! It done this every time. I had to shut it off manually each time or it would resume by itself!

Could it be a bad brake switch or in the column switch that controls the set and resume function? My Elky is an 82.

Check adjustment of the vacuum dump switch on the brake pedal, make sure the plunger is fully depressed with the brake pedal up, and that the plunger extends when the brake pedal is depressed.

Acauth1,

Yep, I think you nailed it.

Just checked the vacuum switch on the brake pedal and the little plunger isn't coming out every time the brake pedal is pressed. I sprayed some WD-40 into the plunger and it seemed to free it up somewhat but I'll probably need to replace it soon.

Didn't spend a lot of time trying but couldn't quite figure out what holds that thing on to the bracket, so if I do need to change it out, how do you get it off?

Thanks for your help. I really do appreciate it.

Bobby

You can either pull it straight out, or unscrew it.
