Just decided to "double check" my VIN and on Google and found out it originally had a 231! :(

Not that it matters too much, but now I wonder if it used to be a junkyard queen (wrecked and rebuilt). Guess I might give Carfax their $20 and find out the history of this car.

I remember my father having no less than 7 different engines in his Caballero during the 6 years he had it, 80-86. Who knows, maybe it was someone like that. Swapping engines is like a weekend hobby. :?

I knew mine wasn't original when i bought it...and that was part of the reason i DID buy her! I've never had any vehicle that i didn't make "mine"...and it just so happened that the elky already had a few mods on her that i would have done myself.

But she too originally came with the baby motor...so i'm GLAD the swap was made! :D

I'm better now, broke down and did a CARFAX on it and found out it wasn't wrecked. Just a V-8 put in. The swap was done right as well so they had to have had a donor car as all the correct brackets are in tact as well as the correct radiator with formed hoses versus the old "u bend em" hoses.

I'm sure I'll do an engine rebuild soon (actually swap with an engine I have). I guess it's just something I'd have liked to of known and I can't help but wonder if the guy who sold it to me knew. He played stupid way too well.

Either way, my car came to me with things I wanted. Urethane front spoiler, no side trim, and a V-8. I'll shut up and not complain. :cool:
