zach01s 12-04-2010, 04:53 AM Ahahaha the opening bid made me laugh. but the buy it now price made me choke on the soda i was drinking
464elky 12-04-2010, 04:55 AM With no title, no build sheet and most of the parts damaged or missing there is no way you could even start to come out on that car if he gave it to you.
DONE DEAL DONNY 12-04-2010, 05:11 AM If he gave it to me I'd have him arrested for littering!!!!
Donny
zach01s 12-04-2010, 05:12 AM i wouldnt take it if the owner paid me to. the thing is, sometimes cars are just too far gone to fix or restore. it might make a good parts car though. there might be a few useable parts somewhere on it.
DONE DEAL DONNY 12-04-2010, 05:14 AM What? The lug nuts????:poke:
Donny
zach01s 12-04-2010, 05:21 AM maybe on the side that wasnt hit.
did you see that sweet steerring wheel cover? thats 5 extra horsepower right there.
i honestly wouldnt mind the 427. it most likely had a th400 too. and the floor shifter was cool for a factory one.
samjudi 12-04-2010, 05:52 AM "Significant Accident"? Looks like a little understated. I would say this is a "Texas Sized" project.
Go ahead Donny, we will cheer you on from the sidelines......

just plain john 12-04-2010, 06:10 AM That car is a POS and the seller is a moron. No telling if the motor/trans is even worth salvaging. Good luck with that buddy.
zach01s 12-04-2010, 06:23 AM the seller said it ran, but ive also seen a motor run that threw a rod through the side of the block....
melissadunagan 12-04-2010, 09:14 AM Hey Donny buy it and rebuild that 427 and put in your Yellow 68, be a nice Hp increase far you. Hee Hee
DONE DEAL DONNY 12-04-2010, 09:28 AM It has a 68 Impala 396 in it now? I was told that alot of the police cars were Impalas and they had special motors?:dontknow:. All I know is when I run the numbers thats what it comes back as.

Kerno 12-04-2010, 09:39 AM There are a couple things that I think I remember about those cars. First, there were 2 versions of the 427. If you bought air conditioning, you could only get the little 427, not the Special High Performance version. That would explain the lack of the domed hood and trim.
Next, convertibles had a special frame with more braces and pieces to stiffen them than the coupes, so replacing the frame is going to be tough. If the car is ever put together, without a build sheet or ProtectoPlate, it is only a 427 tribute car, unless the info happens to be in the GM records.
rgraboske 12-04-2010, 10:33 AM A few years ago I found this '68 stored in the same place that I store on of my cars. It was an all original 327 car with less than 31,000 miles. It needed quarters and paint. My friend bought it for $2,500. Now it has new paint, and new top, and a new interior, and they have less than $10,000 into it. There is no way I'd pay that much for that wreck:screwy:

tsunamigregg 12-04-2010, 03:07 PM Take it to a junk yard and get it weighed for the metal; the remainng Impala's become more rare and their value will go up by the death of this one.
melcamino85 12-04-2010, 10:54 PM thats nuts what is this guy thinking i mean lets get real i mean real POS !!!
