Jack_K 12-15-2010, 01:00 PM I just bought a 1980 Conquista (spelling?). The body is good, the interior is so-so, and the engine and transmission work.
It's been parked in a back yard since 2003. I guess that's why it won't idle very well. Probably needs a carb kit and new gas.
BTW, anybody know a good paint shop in Ft Worth, TX?

If it's been parked in a yard since 2003 with the same gas in it...I'm surprised it's running at all. Welcome to ECC Jack!

Be sure to check the region 13 forum (especailly during the show season) for shows and get togethers. You don't have to have a show winner, just a willingness to hang out and get to know your fellow El Camino owners! I'm up in the north country near Paris, TX. Hope to meet you sometime.

melissadunagan 12-17-2010, 02:47 AM Hey a big welcome. I know of a shop, not in Fort Worth but not very far from Fort Worth. The name of this shop is Smoky Hill Restoration. Phone # is 1-817-910-2955. Address is 5439 Old Granbury Rd. This shop is the one that I am having to do my 81 Grand Camino custom body work.
kenrogers1 01-11-2011, 09:56 AM A belated welcome to the ECC & NECOA Forums! I was somewhat laid up at the time you joined, and I just got caught up and found you. We here in North Central Texas, the metromess, will be contacting you about get-togethers and car shows later in the season.
In the meantime, I can recommend the "House of Hot Rods", in Mansfield, 2301 Hwy. 1187, 817-466-9942 for an excellent paint job. Ask for Chad................Ken
