Is there a radio delete plate for 5th gens? Never seen one, so I wonder if they all came with a radio. Anyway someone stole the radio about a year ago and I guess I need to cover the hole with something. The bezel I have now was hacked up by whoever installed the radio that was there, so I actually need a new bezel also.:texas:

Yes there were radio delete plates made, whether or not you can find one in good condition, and color your looking for, depends on how hard and long you search. Maybe someone here has one, maybe over at www.maliburacing.com (http://www.maliburacing.com) or maybe ebay. Took me about 1 minute to find this one...I'm getting slow in my old age. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1978-86-Monte-Carlo-Malibu-El-Camino-Radio-Delete-Plate-/160518255773?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessorie s&hash=item255fa2349d

Getting old and slow? At least you found one, I didn't even manage to find one, so I must be close to death:dontknow:. I didn't realise they were that expensine tho, I guess they are kinda rare.

Not really all that rare and I've seen better ones for less. Remember I said how long and how hard you keep looking. Keep checking Ebay from time to time or post in "parts wanted" sections of other Gbody sites. The hunt is part of the fun.

OR- if you are just going to drill holes in it for gauges (just a guess), go grab a piece of 1/4" ABS plastic and trace and cut.
Won't look as fancy as that one..but I suppose that all depends on your craftmanship.
Just a thought.

I went to tractor supply and got a small piece of diamond plate aluminium and used stainless steel button head screws. Just saying sometimes you got to think outside the box. Dare to be different.

Yea you can pretty much find anything on eBay. The trick though is to check daily for about a week or so if you dont find it the first day.
