Im not sure if this has been covered or not fully. I have looked back and havent seen any real solid feed back on how to operate a 700 r4 on a non computer controlled engine. I have a 400 small block that its hooked to. What are the basics that i need to get this tranny to run with this engine..i pulled the tranny from a 88 caprice. Are there any extra lines or switches i need to make this work?

The TH700R4 is a non electronic control trans. The 4l60E is the electronic version of the TH700R4. Some TH700R4 had an lockup torque converter that was ECM controlled but several companies make control switches to allow the lockup function without an ECM. The 1988 Caprice had a TH700R4 transmission.

TV Cable is the key to having a good strong 700R4 / 200R4 and a sorry one. Read TV 101 here is a good article.
