You need to look for a 700r4, these also have over drive. One thing to remember is that your driveshaft will need to be shortend or lengthened; probably the former.

A TH200R4 is an easier bolt in, no need to shorten the driveshaft. Since the TH200R4 was available in later year G-Bodys the necessary crossmember and TV cable are available in a wrecking yard. Swapping the trans, crossmember and TV cable from a G-Body is the absolute cheapest way to get a four-speed auto into your TH350 equipped El Camino.

a well RE-BUILT 200 might do the trick. I still am sticking with the 700r4, you'll be happier with it; I belive.
As far as pricing, it varys from 800-2500. It all depends on location, availability, and what the guys hourly rate is.
I'm in north Florida and it cost me $700 for my TH400 to be gone through. took'em about a full day to complete.

Whether you choose a TH700R4 or TH200R4 a junkyard transplant won't hold up inder that kind of horsepower. Either trans can be built to easily handle 300-400 hp and the prices will be about the same. A performance rebuilt 200 or 700 about $1200-1400, torque converter about $250.00, crossmember about $200, misc, parts $150. On, add another $100 to shorten the driveshaft if you use the TH700R4. Sorry pal. just can't do it on the cheap.
