My dad's '86 El Camino has been sitting for nearly 2 years. We had a mechanic come out and give it a checkup - fluids, new battery. The engine cranks but doesn't turn over. I think this is an ongoing issue, one of the issues my dad was dealing with before his health took a nosedive.

Just wondering: the gas tank in near E. Should I fill it with regular or give the car a jump start with a premium gas?

First welcome to forums. Second I wouldnt fill the tank until you find out whats wrong..spray some gas into carb to see if fires and if you had a mechanic out to check what did he say or determine? give some more info and someone will help...good luck..Jer and yes, sorry about your Dad

Yes, do the preliminary stuff before you put gas in the tank. Is it getting spark at the plugs? Gas at the carb? How many miles? Is the dist. rotor turning when you crank it?
Enquiring minds want to know!
