The tag on the cowl reads
How can you tell if it is a true SS?

Tag under the hood on passenger side right under the windshield reads:

ST 73 1AD80 Z 209511
TR 732 AN7 46 T
03D 209511 4604

Any ideas ?

You can't tell from the VIN tag, you need to find the build sheet that's normally glued to the back of the passenger upper door panel.
The vin tag shows original colors, seats and sequence number.

You might want to have a document protector waiting. Copy it right away, the paper will be very brittle. Some come off clean, some don't.

What some might say is the "correct" way would be to leave it in place and just copy it. It's a lotta fun holding that panel on a copier!!
