Does anybody know of any places/organizations to volunteer at that are involved in cars, or anything automotive/mechanical? I need some volunteer hours with a non-profit for school and of course I can go to some general volunteering place but I would rather be involved with something related to what I enjoy. What little research I've done hasn't turned up much, if anything at all. Also, I'm in the orlando florida area. Thanks.

Hi Alex, one of the neighborhood kids was going to go to a vocational school in your area my understanding it is a good school, can't recall the name. I'm sure any school could use an extra hand. You could also try AARP they are big on volunteering maybe they can steer you in the right direction. Let us know what you find out, take care, Tony.

If there any VA hospitals near you, there are a lot of programs that get disabled vets to working on/with cars as part of their physical therapy. Look into that.

Alex , In another forum , we are discussing about the possibility of returning to Old Town . Maybe you can contact them and explain what you are interested in doing and see what they say . Try giving Tracy Parkinson the Director of Car Shows and Special Events a call . Check out Old Town and their contact numbers at www.oldtown.com . If that does not pan out , check out Mike Kelly`s Cruise News Magazine or www.cruisenewsonline.com for shows and cruise ins in your area . Hope it works out for you .

VA hospitals are always looking for people to transport patients to and from hospitals, I'm sure some old Veterans would love a ride in your Elky. It definitely would make their day and the VA keeps excellent records of their volunteers. And you get to drive your own truck while doing a good deed!
