: TH350 kickdown for qjet?

Here is a picture of the qjet currently on the car:

Here is what I want to rebuild as a replacement:

The second one is missing the attachment point for the TH350. Is there an easy way to attach the kickdown? If not, will it hurt the transmission by not hooking up the kickdown? The way I understand it is that the kickdown ONLY controls WOT downshift, and does not work to increase line pressure on the clutches.

actually it controls your passing gear also

With out the kickdown cable hooket up, The transmission will not shift intell the motor reachesgets a higher RPM. You could shift it manual at any RPM. I would match up the new carb with the old one and bolt on a bracket so the kickdown cable could be hook up. Doug

as i was saying it controls your passing gear as well. there is a possibility of damaging the tranny but over a period of time.

you might be able to just move your bottom throttle plate over to the other carb.

Had a friend that had no TV cable at all on his trans, and he ran it that way for years.
