Waiting for the tow truck to show up.
Gonna pull the body off and go for it. May take another year before she's back on the road, but I can't wait to get started.
A friend of mine owns a body shop and is letting me work on the car there. It's good to have friends that can guide you through what you need to know. Especially when you can use all thier tools. LOL

Good luck Rob. It's a big step to take but it'll be well worth it. I know the feeling. My 87 just got disassembled and sandblasted last week.

Got the body off the frame today. Found some things I didn't like. Looks like the car was hit at one time. The Right front body mount was bent. I;ll have to measure the frame to check for straightness. Luckily I'm doing this at a body shop, cause we can pull it straight if it needs to. I don't think it'll need it though.

I made a wooden fram with casters, so I can put the body on it and roll it around when I need to. I'm taking a few days off. I'll start the disassemly of the frame next week and then sandblast it.

Well the body is still off the frame. I have the frame disassembled and all the bushings and ball joints out of the control arms.
Next step is sandblasting. Then I'll primer all the chasiis parts and start on my frame modifications.

Just a quick update on how it's going.
The frame was bent and needed to be pulled straight. After that was done I decided to box the frame. I also setteled on a rear suspension. NASCAR truck arms.
Luckily I know a guy who has a hooters cup car. He bought some old inventory from one of the Cup teams. I bought a set of truck arms from him for $100. I had to fab a crossmember and a panhard bar, but it was really simple. I used a 9in housing.
If any one wants it I have my old 10 bolt for sale. It has posi and gears from a monte ss so I think they are 3:43. I also have some stock control arms that I had boxed in. The welding on them is top notch. Done by Jimmy Salemi at G-Force Race Cars(he builds Pro Mod Drag Cars).
Also have the rear sway bar and thedrums and shoes are like brand new.
Any one interested make me an offer.
