CHVYPWR 04-28-2003, 10:00 AM *SOLD*I have a 283 SBC for sale. The casting numbers say it's a '63-'65 year range with the power pack heads. It has been recently rebuilt, all internals look great, the cross hatch is still very clear on the cyls. Complete unit carb to pan minus dist., $350 obo. Must pick up, won't ship. I hooked it up, it runs, sounds real strong, has oil pressure, and doesn't smoke. You can hear it run before you buy! This engine has been rebuilt not too long ago, VERY clean inside, freeze plugs still look new, as does the cross-hatch on the cyls. I've added a starter and HEI dist., to the deal, what you see it the pic is what you get, $300 firm. I sold a similar engine in October 2000 to a guy that drove down from New Hampshire to NJ because he wanted a numbers matching 283 for a restoration. I believe he paid $205.00 for just the 283.
