: New member from Georgia
twotoejoe 01-29-2011, 06:57 PM New member on this site from Georgia here! But I'm not new to El Caminos by any means. The best I can recall, I've owned at least 8 over the years, including two that I bought brand new. I purchased a new 77 El Camino Classic, and then in 83 I purchased on of the very first SS El Camino Choo Choo Verisons. It was one of the actual 55 that were at the track at the Daytona 500 that year. I still have all the paperwork here on that one somewhere. Wish I had never let that one get away!
I have now acquired a 71 SS 454 El Camino that has been in our family for over 30 years. It belonged to my step father who passed away in 1984. It has only 26,000 miles and was stored in a heated garage by my mother for the last 27 years. She did have us get it out and drive it occasionally just to keep the fluids moving. I've been heavily involved in GTO's over the past 30 something years, restoring National winners and judging at the National level. Hopefully I can contribute to this forum.

It should actually be 'no toe' as I have lost all the toes on my right foot. But that's a story for another day!

jarhead 01-31-2011, 10:29 AM When I first saw your name, I thought about that scoundrel that attacked our boys at Pearl Harbor. Welcome to the forum and if you move to Texas you'll find that everything that happens.. starts here! All of the non-Texas members really wished they lived near Done Deal Donnie anyway. :poke:

CANTED 01-31-2011, 04:44 PM Welcome Jerry, perhaps you were good friends with Ty Cobb when he lived there.

Regardless, you are about 98 miles from me (flying) and I am your new Deputy Regional Director. When the weather gets nice we need to plan a get together.
Our cars would look good together.

LOL, I'm not quite that old. BTW, that house is for sale AGAIN. Seems no one can afford to keep it up. I live only about 1/4 mile from there.
