: Allow me to introduce myself.. 59 El Camino
J.Fishbeck 01-31-2011, 12:15 AM I wanted to introduce myself, I'm Jay. I'm building a 59 El Camino now, for a little over a year. I've taken pics, throughout the whole process. Definitely a neat body style and looking forward to finishing it!
Here's how it sat when I found it out in Gardenia, Ca.

El Diablo 01-31-2011, 06:01 AM That's a great restoration post. How do you keep the camera clean?
leogexx 01-31-2011, 07:45 AM Great looking build , that is quite the documentation of progress . You never realize how much work is involved in taking the front clip apart on a 59/60 el camino until you do it . Looking forward to see the finished result.
melcamino85 01-31-2011, 08:44 AM welcome aboard!!! nice work on the 59 enjoyed reading the build up keep up the good work:You_Rock:

skssrat 01-31-2011, 06:05 PM I do love '59's!! Don't see as many in here as I'd like to, so a big 'welcome aboard"!! What are your plans for it? Show car, Stock, Custom or racing? What kind of engine are you going to stuff in it? In the words of Vic Edlebrock "if your driving anything with less than a BB under your hood your driving your moms car" just food for thought!! Keep us all posted:beer:
J.Fishbeck 01-31-2011, 08:53 PM Thanks for the welcome, guys! I am used to the HAMB, and find it hard to navigate around on this site. I will figure it out, I always do!
Now, I have a 64 300hp 327 w/ a 700R4 going in it. I am going to paint it '64 Wimbleton White ext.(a Ford color.. I know, I know! hahaha) with a medium dark(if that makes sense) green interior, loosely based on the original design. Air Bags and 20' frt & 22" rr Intro Vistas.
As for the camera.. its my cell phone. Doing what I do, this is my 4th phone! The magnet in the speaker was pulling the fine steel through my pants & ruining the speakers. But I haven't been fabricating lately, being in the bodywork stages right now. Thank goodness for the insurance on my phone! Hahaha
I need a 59 El Camino, rear quarter molding.. if anybody has one. The psngr car (Bel Air) mldg is longer than the 2dr 59 wgn/El Camino mldgs. I have Impala mldgs I plan on using, since I can't find the single (2dr wgn/ElCo) mldg I need.
mrwonterful 01-31-2011, 11:01 PM :Welcome!:Actually seen the pictures before i seen this post ,I bought a 59 Impala convert in 61 for 1800. Loved that car but had to sell when enlisted.........I prefer the impala side molding personally and would like to see it Finished; Keep up the (good)hard work:beer::goodjob:

I'll look in my backyard for one-----had 3 sets at one time and not sure if I have any left.
If not----the 59-60 Forum at "Chevy Talk" have a lot of helpful people with expertise in the
x-frame cars

Sorry.. I hate when that happens! Hahaha

My Dad owned Jardines, 59 Biscayne. So I have always had a soft spot for 59s! I was looking for a 2dr 59 wgn, when I came across this El Camino.
