mrwonterful 01-31-2011, 10:15 PM :goodjob:Sounds like you got a winner, and Welcome and how may horses do you require?
dabayelco 01-31-2011, 10:23 PM 305 won't really make a lot of power without dumping tons of money Into it, I'd tune it up, open up the exhaust, new intake manifold, maybe a cam too since your swapping out the intake. Rear ends are the real weak spot on a 5th gen so that is also something to consider

conspiracy 02-01-2011, 07:32 AM hey Jon welcome to the site and region 21, don't forget to post pics of your ride, because we love them !! :nanawrench:
el-caholic 02-01-2011, 10:11 AM wow thanks for the welcome everyone! ill get some pics up by the afternoon probably.
and ideally i require quite the stable of the finest horses..... i have a hook up for a brand new rtr 540hp 383ci for $2500, which would be sweet, but then again alot of other stuff would need to be upgraded for the power increase.. i think for now ill stick to q jet, new intake manifold, different heads/cam set up, full exhaust..
btw its quadrajet rebuild time... do it, or get a holley? considering if im getting different heads/cams in the near future.
welcome, sounds like a good start. id rebuild your q-jet.
melcamino85 02-01-2011, 12:16 PM welcome aboard i would rebuild q jet. :smileyb:
melissadunagan 02-01-2011, 12:47 PM Welcome from Texas. If I remember right their is a company called Jet Performance that can rebuild and mod you Q jet where it will out perfrom the Holley, plus get better gas millage. Maybe you could put a stroker crank in it.
67ELK 02-01-2011, 02:17 PM WELCOME jon! Sounds like a nice ELK you have there!
el-caholic 02-01-2011, 05:51 PM thanks! and i guess the general concensus is to rebuild that quadrajet, so i know what im doing this weekend!
DOUG213XRJ 02-03-2011, 01:11 PM Welcome aboard.
