Well, we finally have our own Region. All of California is united in Region 18!
Now what?... We really need to get our thoughts together to establish local clubs. I expect the Deputy Directors to lead the effort in this area, afterall that's why we recuited you guys.
I have to admit I'm not very familiar with you SoCal guys, but I will be reading all you past posts to help me get a feel of what's going on down there.
I have been in contact with Richard Lopez from the Bakersfield area and I like what I see. Richard has a nice El Camino club already in place. I plan on attending his club's big show in May (see his "2011 El Camino Show" post) . I'd like to see how he has set up his club and maybe we can use it as a model for future clubs.
In the meantime, I welcome any discussion on the formation of local clubs and events. Remember, It only take a few members to form a club or stage an event.
Let's make Region 18 a leader of membership particaption.

So... all of us current Reg18ers... help me welcome our brothers and sisters from the south. And a sad goodbye to our Nevada folks. I know Mike Darby will bring much success to our friends in Nevada. :You_Rock:

Just changed the region number from 17 to 18, since we've been moved.
No other changes.

There are plenty of members in CA, we just have to actively seek them out. I've used the membership list to find alot of members in my area. I will begin to rally them as soon as this logo project is done. I expect my deputies to do the same in thier area, after all that's why we commissioned Deputies. Use the advanced search to find the members in your area. Download the business cards to introduce yourself.
If anyone wants to start or organize a meeting, get together with your local deputy or me.

I hope to have a rough draft of a CA logo by next week end, after that I will be traveling/training for most of March.
