Ok this may be a stupid question to some or it could be a good one, just depends on your view so please dont judge me.. ive looked at dynomatt and B-quiet and fatmatt and alot more products and it looked almost like clear silicone caulking does just a different color and has a silver backing so here's my question.. now i know clear silicone wouldnt have the same sound deadening capabilities but would it work to stop the rattle? it is my back wall that is rattle when my bass hits, i was wondering if i covered it in a few layers of clear silicone (it will be covered up so i don't have to worry about looks) would it stop rattling?

no ur gonna need the dynomatt or some kind of materal to absorb the sound to keep it inside they sell some sound deading material at lowes its cheaper than dyno and works great...

Give it a shot but sound deadner would be the better choice, you could go to lowes or home depot and buy the cheap aluminum insulation stuff. I forget what it's called but it's exactly like dynamat but probably just thinner

I would try shooting some of the foam in a can that expands, it has good adhesion and might tighten up that area.

I made sure it didn't rattle anything outside on my el camino and nothing rattles but my door handle but its not a huge rattle, you can only hear it if your listening for it really closely. fixitman1 i seen that rubber undercoating at walmart and it said it has sound deadener in it.. does it really work well? Can anyone find out the name for the stuff at lowes? I went in there and asked and no one knew what i was talking about :dontknow:

The stuff at Lowes is used for Roofs. It has a high proportion of Asphault in it, so if you live in a hot climat, you could get some "Smell" in the hotter months.

There are so many products nowadays to cure rattle/squeak problems. Finding "it" can always be fun. As an old time hot rodder I never worry about those "small annoying" rattles & squeaks.... mainly because I can't hear them anyway... the "fix"???? LOUD PIPES!!! :biggrin2:
