I'm haveing some conflicting reports from people I have talked to about how much of the el camino is shared with the impala......Some tell me from the doors forward is the same....and some tell me from the fenders. The question I have is is the weather striping the same for the el camino as the impala......and if so will the glass be the same too. I do know the rear glass is elky only for the 2 years but what about the whindshild, quarter, and door glass?

The windshield on the 1960 pickup delivery (elky) and sedan delivery is a W586. The vent on the elky is a 2237T and the door is a 4211T. The back glass is a B3009. Only the vent and windshield on the 60 elky and sedan delivery are the same.

The w/s and vent on all 1960 2 door sedan, 2 door sedan business, 2 door wagon, 4 door sedan and 4 door wagon are interchangeable but the door glass and back glass are not. All 1960 hard top and convertables are different from the elky.

The 2237T (vent) does interchange with some Buick, Olds, and Pontiac models, but but the 4211T (door) is unique to the elky.

One other point, the "T" parts are flat and can be cut from flat stock glass but it must be a safty glazing material. Either laminated or tempered.

As far as the seals go, I have no knowledge of the interchangability of those parts.

Hey there,

Try here for the door weatherstrip:

There are lots of parts that are actually made for this car - you just have to dig really deep to find them . . .
