Hi again!!
Sorry for the mess up on the color codes......I picked a bad day to quit sniffing glue....(Airplane movie joke).....if you have an automotive paint dealer.....go look up the Dupont Interior Color chart for that year and color.....Dupont makes interior paint to color the hard plastic/metal parts in the interior so if your luck is good....they might show that color in a chip...

Hey J......
I would think that your Cowl Tag would have the information that might list what plant yours came from and that might allow us to give a guess as to an answer.

Someone is giving you a BIG line of BS. Cadillac assembly plants were not setup to build El Camino Bodies and it never happened. There is no info on any strike at GM during the 68 model year which was Aug 67 to July 68. Whats more, if there was a UAW strike against a Chevy plant all the GM plants would be on strike. They did have a big strike in 1970.
Someone did some customizing is there is a Cadillac marker light on it.
In 1968 these GMAD Plants built El Camino's as well as Chevelle's, Buick Gran Sports, GTO's and 442's. No Cadillac plants built any other car line, unique platforms for the Cadillac.
Baltimore, MD
Fremont CA
Leeds (Kansas City), MO
Only about 5,190 SS396 1969 El Camino's were made out of the total of 41,791 units
