Ok, here's the problem. My 1989 Corvette is throwing steam from the AC vents, even when neither the AC nor heat is on. I need to drive this thing to school tomorrow, but I can't see out of the damned thing when it fogs so quickly. I know the problem must be radiator related but I dont know much more than that. I tried using some liquid radiator repair stuff, and it only helped for a day or so. Help as quickly as possible would be greatly appreciated from a former El Camino owner.

Your heater core is leaking and needs a replacement. As a temporary repair block off the two heater hose into the firewall on the right side. Any auto store will sell you two cap plugs that yoy use on the water pump and intake manifold, just follow the hose back from the firewall. In an extreme emergency you can leave the hoses connected and pinch off the hoses (visegrips or anything else that works.

Is there anything that can be done in the meanwhile to make this thing easier to manage driving in? Like I said, I have to get to school tomorrow and it fogs up fast.
EDIT: Nice response time on that, thanks. I guess I'll have to try pinching the hoses off tomorrow morning.

Disconect one of the heater hoses at the intake manifold, disconect the other at the firewall, reconcet at intake manifold. (Loop the curcit) .Basicly bypass the heater core.

Thanks for the help, but it looks like I'm still going to be driving around the fog tomorrow. All my tools are at my dad's. :? Nothing is going right for my poor car today. I got rear-ended earlier by a car carrier, luckily it hit at low speed and only made some scratches on the bumper. :-(

Once again this site saves the day, was just trying to adjust a stuck throttle, hit the accelerator hard, coolant spewed on the windwhield and leaked into the compartment. Fogging started in the cab. New I had blown the heater core, searched on on hear for heater core bypass....
10 minutes later core is bypassed and all is well again.
Love you guys.
