: Hi everyone, new member 1st post
So, I finally (had to) pulled my 1965 out of a garage I rented after 16 years of not even seeing it. I am in Ct and we have had some major snow, and the roof collapsed on the garage. I guess now is the time to begin restoration. I had it stored because I know it is a rare one, and it is certainly not going to loose any value. It is virtually a rust free, (now with a dent in roof and hood) 62K mile bone stock original 65 Custom w/ hi-po 327, 202 fuelies, 4 barrel, all numbers matching, factory A/C, completely intact, 12 bolt, auto(power glide), PS, PB, even cruise control. It even still has the original glass windshield fluid triangle bottle on the firewall. There was no gas in the tank, so changed the oil, put on a new fuel filter, and 2 nights it was running, smooth as I remember it. Pretty amazing, after 16 years, it fired right up first time. only leak was the heater core, and I now have heater box on firewall and inside out to replace. Never saw so much mice nest. The cowl was packed, heater box packed, thats what rotted out core, the a/c ducts clogged solid, really a mess. Good news is all wiring is fine. So, I am wondering if anyone can give me a reccomendation of some of the places to buy replacment parts. I will post some pics soon. Thanks to everyone in advance, looking forward to talking. Merc

Plans are in the works for a 2011 Spring Dust Off where you can get a chance to meet other Region 2 El Camino owners. As a reminder for other Region 2 members, you can attend even if your El Camino isn't road worthy, just come in your daily driver. Again, Welcome!
